Marble Top Centre Tables for the Living Room

In most Indian homes the centre table does more work than any other piece in the living room. Tea gets served on it, newspapers pile up on it, the remote goes missing under it, and when guests come over it is the first thing they put their cup down on. Whether you call it a centre table, a center table, a coffee table or a teapoy, you want the same thing from it: the right size for your sofa, a top that wipes clean after a spill, and a look that holds up for years.

This collection brings together more than 160 marble top centre tables in round, oval, rectangular and square shapes. Most sit on SS304 stainless steel bases with a PVD finish in gold, rose gold, black, silver, copper gold or bronze brown. The rest use solid wood, rattan or cane frames. Prices start at ₹9,999. Around 15 designs cost under ₹20,000, close to 90 fall between ₹20,000 and ₹35,000, and the larger and more detailed pieces go up to ₹49,999. Every table ships free across India, and you can pay through EMI or partial cash on delivery.

Centre Table Size and Price Guide

Before you look at colours or base designs, measure two things: the length of your sofa and the free floor space in front of it. Getting those right matters more than any other choice you make.

A centre table works best at about two-thirds the length of the sofa. For a standard 3-seater of around 72 to 80 inches, that means a table of roughly 44 to 50 inches. Leave 16 to 18 inches between the edge of the table and the sofa, so people can walk past and still reach their cup without leaning forward. With an L-shaped sofa, the shape and placement work a little differently. Height should be close to your sofa seat. Most of our centre tables are 16 to 18 inches high, which suits the majority of sofas sold in India. A few low-slung designs, like the Cosmic and Astra round tables at 14 inches, work better with deep, low modern sofas.

If you are not sure, lay a bedsheet folded to the table's size on the floor and leave it there for a day. You will know quickly whether it blocks the path to the balcony or leaves the room feeling empty. Sizes on handmade pieces can vary by 5 to 7 cm from the listed measurement, so allow a little margin in tight spaces.

Choosing a Shape: Round, Oval, Rectangular or Square

Round tables are the easiest to live with in smaller flats. There are no corners to knock a knee on, which matters with small children at home, and they let you walk around them from any side. A 30-inch round table fits in front of a 2-seater or a pair of armchairs. Browse round centre tables.

Oval tables give you the length of a rectangle with softer edges. They are the most popular choice for a standard 3-seater because they fill the space in front of the sofa without making the room feel boxed in. Many of our oval designs are 44 x 23 inches and come with a matching round side table. Browse oval centre tables.

Rectangular tables make the most of every inch of top surface. If you use the centre table for serving snacks, playing cards or working on a laptop, rectangular is the practical pick. They also suit long, narrow living rooms. Browse rectangular centre tables.

Square tables work well with L-shaped sofas, where seats face the table from two sides. Sizes run from 30 x 30 inches up to larger pieces like the 42 x 42 inch Maharaja cane table.

For something more decorative, there are ball-base designs with sculpted gold and black spheres, Moroccan inlay tables with hand-laid patterns, and modern designs with clean geometric bases.

Base Options: Stainless Steel, Wood, Rattan and Cane

The base decides how the table looks from across the room, and it also decides how much upkeep you will do.

SS304 stainless steel with PVD coating. This is the base on most tables in the collection. SS304 is the grade of steel used in kitchen fittings because it does not rust easily, which is useful in humid cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. PVD is a coating process that bonds the colour to the steel, so the gold or black finish does not wear off with dusting the way spray paint does. Finishes include gold, rose gold, copper gold, black, silver, charcoal black and bronze brown, in matte or glossy.

Solid wood frames. Several rectangular designs use a black, white or off-white wooden frame with a drawer underneath, which is handy for remotes, coasters and chargers. There are also teak and walnut-finish tables for homes with a lot of wooden furniture already.

Rattan and cane. The handcrafted rattan and cane tables bring a lighter, more relaxed look and pair well with indoor plants and linen upholstery. They need occasional dusting with a soft brush to keep the weave clean.

All these frames are part of our wooden centre tables range.

Table Top Options

Most tables here have a 15mm marble top in white, black or grey with natural-looking veining. White with gold is the most requested combination, while black and grey tops hide everyday marks better and suit darker interiors. Some designs use a glass top over a metal or wooden frame, and the inlay tables use hand-laid resin or mother-of-pearl patterns. Read our centre table material guide for a detailed comparison of top materials, and our natural vs composite marble comparison if you are deciding between the two.

Sets with Side Tables, Drawers and Storage

Many of the oval and round designs come as a set: a main centre table plus a smaller round side table, usually 16 inches across and 20 inches high. Our side table height guide shows how to match it to your sofa arm. The side table can sit next to the sofa arm, be tucked partly under the main table, or move around when you have guests. Each product page lists what is included.

If you need storage, look at the tables with drawers and shelves. The Rectangular Centre Table for Living Room (47 x 24 inches) has a full-width drawer in a black wooden frame. The Modern Marble Coffee Table with Drawers and Shelf adds an open lower shelf for magazines. The Golden Base Centre Table with Dual Storage has storage on both sides. If you would rather have extra surfaces that tuck away, look at a nesting set.

Matching the Centre Table to Your Living Room

A good way to choose a finish is to look at the metal and wood already in the room, then carry one finish through the room. If your TV unit, curtain rods or light fittings are brass or gold, a gold or copper gold base will tie them together. Black bases sit well with grey sofas, dark wooden floors and black window frames. Silver and charcoal suit cooler colour schemes with white walls and blue or grey upholstery.

For a small living room, a white top on a slim gold or silver base keeps the room feeling open, because light passes around and under the table. In a large room, a heavier base, a black top or a set with a side table gives the seating area a clear centre so the furniture does not look scattered.

Think about how the room is used, too. If children play on the floor, a round or oval table avoids sharp corners. If the living room doubles as a dining space for snacks and chai with guests, a rectangular top at 18 inches high is more comfortable to eat from. If the room has a large rug, choose a table that sits fully on the rug, with all its legs or its base inside the rug's edge. Our carpet size guide shows which rug fits which sofa.

Marble Centre Table FAQs

What is the price of a marble centre table in India?

DecoraHub marble top centre tables start at ₹9,999. Most designs, including the popular 44-inch oval and rectangular tables on gold or black steel bases, cost between ₹25,000 and ₹35,000. Larger and more detailed pieces, such as inlay and designer tables, go up to ₹49,999.

Is a centre table the same as a coffee table or a teapoy?

Yes. Centre table, center table, coffee table and teapoy are different names for the same low table placed in front of the sofa. "Centre table" and "teapoy" are the more common terms in India, while "coffee table" is used internationally. See our best-selling teapoy designs with prices.

What size centre table is right for a 3-seater sofa?

For most 3-seater sofas, a 42 to 45 inch oval or rectangular table works well. Our most common size is 44 x 23 inches. If you prefer round, choose a 35 to 36 inch table. Keep 16 to 18 inches of space between the table and the sofa.

What is the right height for a centre table?

Aim for the same height as your sofa seat, or an inch or two lower. Most of our centre tables are 16 to 18 inches high, which suits standard Indian sofas. For low modern sofas, look at 14 to 15 inch designs.

Which centre table colour works best in a small living room?

A white top on a slim gold, silver or rose gold base is the safest choice for a small room. It reflects light and keeps the floor visible under the table, so the room feels larger. Round and oval shapes also take up less visual space than square ones.

Should I choose a marble top or a glass top?

A marble top feels heavier and more solid, hides fingerprints, and handles hot cups and everyday use well. A glass top looks lighter and shows the base underneath, but it marks more easily and needs wiping more often. Most of this collection uses marble tops, with a few glass designs for those who prefer that look.

Can I customise the size or colour of a centre table?

Yes. Customisation of size, top colour and base finish is free on request for most designs. Send the product name to us on WhatsApp at +91 62903 50924 with the changes you need.

Do you deliver centre tables across India?

Yes. Shipping is free across India. EMI and partial cash on delivery are available at checkout, and damaged-in-transit pieces are replaced.
