The measurement that decides everything
The larger table in a nesting set is your centre table. It follows the same two rules as any centre table:
- Height within 2 inches of the sofa seat. A 17 inch seat takes a table of 15 to 19 inches. Most nesting sets land at 17 or 18 inches, which suits the Imperial Heritage Lounger at 17 inches.
- Length half to two thirds of the sofa. A 75 inch three seater takes a table of 38 to 50 inches. This is where nesting sets run short, and it is the honest limit of the format.
Leave 18 inches between the sofa edge and the table.

Match the set to the room
- Living room up to 10 x 10 ft, or a two seater sofa. The 22 inch Amelia or the three-table set. Small tables keep the walking path clear, and there is a real path to keep clear in a room this size.
- Living room of 10 x 12 ft with a three seater. A 30 to 32 inch large table: Contemporary Circular, Black Metallic or Luxurious Black Top.

Metal legs or stainless steel
Most sets are listed in both. Stainless steel adds ₹5,000 to ₹7,000. SS304 does not rust, which matters in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Kochi, and near a balcony door anywhere. On the small table it matters more than on the large one, because the small table is the one that gets moved, lifted and knocked. Tops
Composite marble at 15 mm is the standard top and the right choice for the table that takes daily cups. Two tables or three
The three-table set at ₹13,999 gives one more surface for less than most two-table sets. The trade-off is that each table is smaller, so the largest will not anchor a room on its own. Three tables suit a home where the extra surfaces genuinely get used, next to an armchair or at the far end of the sofa. Two tables suit a room where the large table needs to hold its own as a centre table.
The carpet underneath
The large table should stand fully on the carpet with 12 inches showing on every side. A 32 inch table needs 56 inches across, so a 5 x 7 ft carpet is the minimum and a 6 x 9 is better with a three seater. When the small table is pulled out, it may sit off the carpet, which is fine. Keep the finish consistent
